Interview With Ivan Livov, Chief Operating Officer of Vivo Gaming
Ivan Livov, Chief Operating Officer of Vivo Gaming, has kindly agreed to take part in our Q&A. CasinosHunter has long been interested in Live Games and how the leading providers approach the creation of these gaming products. In this Q&A, you can learn more about Vivo Gaming and Live Games for online casinos.
About Vivo Gaming
Vivo Gaming, one of the pioneers and now the leaders of Live Gaming for online casinos, was founded in San Jose, Costa Rica, in 2010. In the following decade, the company launched several successful and innovative games and opened new studios in different parts of the world, including in the Philippines, in Varna, Bulgaria, etc.
This award-winning provider has constantly worked on delivering the best quality games to different markets, and developing technical innovations for the niche of Live Gaming.
Today, Vivo Gaming boasts adaptive mobile interfaces for their games, 4 HD robotic cameras for every table, real-time stats and reports on each game for the operator, and 24/7 streams.
One of the outstanding things offered by Vivo Gaming is the new Chroma Key studios with a special background that enables the operators to promote their brands via visual materials like videos, logos, etc.
Vivo Gaming pays special attention to the dealers because live interaction is one of the key ingredients for an entertaining and profitable Live Game. There are native-speaking dealers for all eight global studios, and the company supports around 28 languages for localization. The Dealers are taught to perform on the highest level and a lot of attention is paid to their professionalism.
In addition to Live Table Games like European Roulette, American Roulette, Blackjack
Baccarat, Casino Hold'em, Dragon Tiger, Sic Bo, Andar Bahar, and Teen Patti, Vivo Gaming also covers over 120 sports for sports betting.

Q/A Session With Ivan Livov
Hello and welcome to the Q&A! Thank you for finding time to participate. How many games are currently in the company’s portfolio? Do you release new games often?
We proudly boast an extensive, fast-growing list of all the games one would expect to encounter at their favourite casino, and we are constantly adding to this.
Teen Patti is the newest member of the family. We recently upgraded our studios in Bulgaria to include a Teen Patti table, and as expected, it has proven enormously popular with players.
Teen Patti is a card game favoured by players across the Asian market, it sees them try to create the highest-ranking combination among all the players with only three cards dealt. The goal is also to maximise the pot or the prize pool to make the greatest winnings.
As well as adding new games, we are constantly ensuring we update our games with innovations as we develop them. We recently updated our studio in Uruguay to offer Chroma Key. This has made the offering so much more adaptable for operators there.
Table Games are somewhat limited in themes, designs, or rules, compared to slots that are also wildly popular. Is it hard to invent new games for Live Gaming? How do you ensure variety so that the players keep being engaged and excited about your games?
This is what we are all about, developing innovations that keep the experience fresh and exciting. Our Chroma Key product is a prime example of this. The technology replaces a solid colour background with a whole new visual of the operator’s choice. Dealers working on these new live Baccarat tables can now be placed in front of any location, animation, brand, logo, or graphic imaginable using this sleek new tool.
Operators can adapt their offering to reflect holidays or sporting events at the touch of a button, ensuring the experience remains fresh for the user. It’s simply not enough to present players with the games they love – a live experience needs to offer everything enjoyable about being at the casino but also take full advantage of the technology at its disposal as an online medium.
What is the key ingredient of a successful Live Game? We tend to believe it is the Dealer but maybe we are wrong.
The dealer is indeed a vital aspect of the whole operation, but high-end talent is only one of the factors that make for a great live casino experience. Another key ingredient is making sure the players feel as though they are part of a community. Live casino isn’t just about presenting users with the games they love, it’s about replicating the experience of visiting a casino and all the joys that comes with it.
This is what Vivo Gaming has tried to replicate with our Promotional Tournament Tool. Not only is this flexible enough to be able to take any casino games and allow an operator to offer a tournament with that game, but it also enables communications between users.
The most important element of a tournament is a friendly competition and to maximise the enjoyment of this is vital that users be able to interact with each other about their progress.
How long does a Live Dealer learn to be ready to perform at Vivo Gaming studios?
We insist upon having the highest standard of dealers in the industry, so we only hire those that have proven they are able to deliver the best-in-class service to the customer.
This entails four weeks of intensive training with an emphasis on camera work. It’s not enough to be able to deal well, there’s an art to connecting with an audience on the other side of the lens and that’s the extra bit of magic that Vivo Gaming guarantees.
On top of that, we ensure our dealers communicate to players in their preferred language, therefore we hire employees that are fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Vietnamese, Philippine, Mandarin, and French.
What are the three most popular games by Vivo Gaming as of now? What is so special about them?
Roulette, Blackjack, and Casino Hold’em are among our most popular games, but Baccarat Sic bo and Teen Patti are also consistent performers.
What sets our games apart is our dedication to our mission to help operators strategically grow their brand with a seamless Live Dealer Integration perfected through years of experience. We offer an easy-to-implement solution that will effectively adapt to your existing platforms. At Vivo Gaming, we strive to equip our partners with cutting-edge tools including data feed API, customised products, and a wide selection of promotional applications.
We know that Vivo Gaming currently works with 15 regulated markets, it that correct? What other markets are of interest to you?
Yes, we’re present in a great many markets around the world. Many of those are in Latin America, a region with an enormous degree of potential. Brazil alone is primed to be one of the biggest gambling jurisdictions in the world when it regulates. There will be a massive degree of sports betting given how enthusiastic the country is about football, particularly in the run-up to the World Cup. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be underestimated how much opportunity there is for Live casino in sports betting.
An operator needs the correct infrastructure to take advantage of these gains though. The effectiveness of casino cross-sell in various markets during a significant sporting event is heavily dependent on the product offering and presentation. Engaging games such as Roulette, Blackjack, and Teen Patti have been successful in attracting sportsbook customers.
As well as seeming more approachable than slots, traditional table games offer a convenient and quick-fire play that appeals to punters. Moreover, games like these allow players to dip in and out, rather than redirecting them away from the main event entirely. It offers them the same excitement of a World Cup match before, during and after the game.
Do you think Live Dealer Games in Metaverse have any real perspective for the gambling industry?
Looking at the market trends, VR is becoming progressively more affordable, and this is happening quite quickly.
Right now, customers can get a VR headset for just €300, and we expect that price to continue decreasing as the demand for such content grows. The screen is the most expensive part of the setup and with smartphone sales exploding over the past 10 years, there has been so much development into optimising their product that they are quite affordable to source now.
In fact, investing in a VR headset is now considerably less expensive than buying most smartphones or gaming consoles. VR being expensive is now mostly a myth. If we introduce Metaverse elements to games that involve player-to-player interaction, as we’re already doing with our Promotional Tournament Tool, we may not just get a replicated experience, we’ll provide gameplay that is so much more enriched that it’s impossible to compare with real-life or a traditional online gaming experience.
For Live gaming, the possibilities to enhance social interactions between players are almost unlimited. The question is whether developers will see any commercial potential in creating these features in the first place.
