Hello Tomas! Happy to talk to you within our Q&A sessions with online casino software providers. Could you please tell our readers a bit more about yourself?

I'm Tomas Tezak, the market readiness and logistics lead at Neon Valley Studios. I do a little bit of everything, but mainly I work with the teams to make sure that we get the vision right, that the timelines are aligned, and I coordinate with our publishers at Microgaming to make sure that the games are going out the way they're supposed to.

Please, describe the key values of Neon Valley Studios and what makes this company different from other online casino software developers? 

That's a good question.

We are based out of Las Vegas and we live and breathe Vegas.

We are an independent studio and our goal is to be innovative and bring fresh online gaming content for all types of players.

Neon Valley Studios still has comparatively few games in the portfolio, but I cannot but notice the high quality of gameplay and design. I think it is safe to say that you are focused on quality more than on quantity, and pay special attention to details? 

Yes, it is. Obviously, quality is one of our big goals on every game that we create, but I don't think they're necessarily mutually exclusive; we do believe that we can still deliver high-quality on a large number of games.

So we focus on quality, but also on efficiency and making sure that we can deliver more of this to the players.

One of your popular slots is the Augustus Slot game featuring Ancient Roman style. This game has several cool features, including this Wild symbols respins feature when the player has 2 coins in the sections above each reel. Are you happy with the feedback this game received, and the results it shows?

Yeah, absolutely; we're immensely proud of that game. We used some of the successful mechanics from Age of Conquest, but we've always wanted to do a Roman-style game. That's a big theme in gaming and, being in Vegas, we're very exposed to that sort of stuff, so we've always wanted to do that type of game and it's been well received.

We’ve created a game that we enjoy playing ourselves, so it's been a great ride for Augustus.

One of the studio's latest releases is the Queen of Alexandria slot with Microgaming's revamped WowPot progressive jackpot feature. How was this game developed, and was the Microgaming team directly involved in the process?

Yeah, absolutely. Atlantean Treasures was our first game to feature the Microgaming’s Mega Moolah progressive jackpot, but we always wanted to follow that up with an equally engaging game with huge win potential, but playing against the mighty WowPot.

So we grabbed the mechanics from Atlantean Treasures, did a couple of tweaks in terms of the visuals and the experience for the player, and brought in this luxurious Egyptian theme. The WowPot certainly added an extra level of excitement to the gameplay, and overall Queen of Alexandria WowPot is performing well in the market.

In terms of working with Microgaming, for every one of our games, we value their feedback hugely. We keep them involved in the process from the beginning, so there's a lot of back and forth with the publishing team to make sure that what we're building works not only for us, but for everybody else outside too. Their input has been invaluable in all our games.

Talking about games development, could you please tell us a bit more about how the creative process is organized in Neon Valley Studios? How long does it take to make each game, how many people work on one game, etc? 

It can vary a little bit from game to game.

I think for us on the creative side, we don't want to necessarily limit the time it takes for our game designers to develop an idea.

They come up with concepts, they see what's working in the market, and then we mature and incubate it for a while before bringing it to the team. Once the idea is presented, everybody takes ownership of that game. It takes us anywhere between two to four months to actually build the game using small teams: somewhere between 15 and 20 people.

Can you tell our readers what is the maximum possible win in your games, and what is the slot game that features such a potential win? 

So with the progressive jackpots on Atlantean Treasures and Queen of Alexandria, we're talking about millions.

But if you go to static versions of the games – for example,  Noble Sky which we released last autumn— that had 5,000 times your bet win potential when you trigger the jackpot, so that's a pretty high top award!

Thank you for finding time to answer the questions, Tomas! In the end, maybe you can tell us what new game releases we can expect from Neon Valley Studios in the near future?

We have a lot of great ideas in the works (and I'm keeping some of those close to my chest) but what I can tell you is that we're very excited about a winter-themed slot we're planning to release in the last quarter of this year. That will feature the Link&Win™ mechanic, and we're also adding a couple of new features to take the gameplay experience to the next level. We can’t wait to tell you more about this exciting project in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
