In this Q&A, we discuss games and releases, as well as experience in the industry, and plans of the company. Feel free to read the full Q&A below to learn more about Blueprint Gaming!
About Blueprint Gaming
Blueprint Gaming online casino software provider is one of the old players in this industry. It was founded in 2001 and all these years, the company was learning, experimenting, evolving, and building a strong brand.
Blueprint Gaming is based in Newark, UK. The provider’s main focus is video slots and exclusive progressive jackpots, megaways games, and deal or no deal games for online casino sites. Moreover, Italy, the UK, Germany, and other countries around the world have machines powered by this provider; at the time of writing, there are over 100,000 gaming machines featuring games by this studio.
Blueprint Gaming has a rich history, being part of the big European partnerships, making its first online slot in 2009 and already in 2016, launching its first progressive slot (and progressives are far more complicated!). In 2019, the company acquired UK games developer Livewire Gaming, and the same year the provider’s slot called The Goonies™ won the Game of the Year 2019 Award from the Gaming Intelligence Awards.
This company holds some of the most respectable and reliable international online gambling licenses, including licenses by the UK Gambling Commission, Alderney Gambling Control Commission, and Malta Gaming Authority.
Blueprint Gaming makes feature-rich games (according to certain data, there are over 200 online titles in their library); all online slots are mobile-compatible and offer special bonus features and gameplay tech specs.
All this makes Blueprint Gaming a company that definitely stands out from the crowd, and CasinosHunter had a chance to ask more.
Q/A Session With Jo Purvis, Director of Key Accounts and Marketing at Blueprint Gaming
I’ve been in the general leisure and gambling industry for the majority of my working life but in terms of the online sector, I’ve been at Blueprint Gaming for over a decade. My role focuses on overseeing and maintaining our strong partnerships with some of the world’s biggest operator brands. I’m also heavily involved in the overall marketing strategy, ensuring our content is visible across a wide audience and building brand awareness within new and existing markets.
My favourite slot is Wish Upon A Jackpot. Creatively, it’s on fire and I love the value for time you get in this game with its engaging features across the magical fairy-tale theme.
Blueprint Gaming has been around since 2001. If you would compare it to other competitors in the niche, what do you believe are the company’s key advantages?
We have a long history of creating games that deliver precisely what players want - engaging and innovative mechanics and features within entertaining themes or under popular IPs. We’ve always been at the forefront of ensuring our titles offer the right blend of these key gameplay factors.
Building on these strong foundations, we then evolve the content players love with new versions of popular game families that retain the charm of the originals yet move the game forward with the creativity of the development team that we have at our disposal.
We’re players at heart, so combining that with our industry insight, knowledge and experience, we can deliver content that entertains and differentiates.
Blueprint Gaming has several gambling licences and is present in many regulated markets. What new markets is the company interested in today?
While we’re always focused on cultivating our existing clients, particularly in the UK where we’re based, we of course have a keen eye on global markets, especially with the pace of regulatory change, which is always evolving in one region or another.
We were recently awarded a supplier licence for the newly regulated Canadian market in Ontario where over 50 of our games were made available to operators and players in the province.
We’re developing a bespoke branded Deal or No Deal™ game based on Canada’s equivalent show Le Banquier, which will be released later this year while also deploying a rebranded version of Jackpot King, named Jackpot Royale. Ontario is an exciting market and really strengthens our profile in North America, which is on most suppliers’ agenda at the moment.
Also, we entered the newly-regulated iGaming market in Holland last year and were among the first to launch games as soon as it opened for business. This is another key European market where our content is resonating with players, who can access the titles across the region’s biggest online brands.
Can you name 3 of the most popular slot games by Blueprint Gaming?
We’re proud to offer one of the most comprehensive libraries of games in the industry from the traditional land-based style titles to high volatility Megaways™ experiences that thrill. The popularity of our games has seen the development of much-loved series with favourites such as Fishin’ Frenzy and Eye of Horus evolving to use a variety of key features and mechanics like Megaways™ and Jackpot King.
We’re also renowned for use of famous licences too with games like Ted™, The Goonies™, Rick and Morty™ and Deal or No Deal™ proving hugely successful, some of which have also gone on to spawn fresh, new versions that continue to meet the approval of a wide range of players.
What are the special or unique features that your games can boast, and the players should pay attention to?
Our drive to innovate and pioneer new gaming experiences is one of our core tenets, and this has seen a number of the trends develop based on mechanics we have been first to the market with. We’ll draw on our experience of what works to usher in new variants of mechanics. Such as with Prize Lines™ that features hold over symbols, which will be familiar to players who enjoy slots from the land-based environment.
We also breathe new life into existing features and mechanics too, just like we’ve done with Megaways™.
Rather than simply using the basic model, we’ve added our own twists to it to change the way these games play, so much so, Blueprint is considered one of the most adept developers of the hugely successful feature, something we’re very proud of.
What is the biggest possible win in games by Blueprint? Has anyone already hit the biggest win, and if yes, what game was it?
Jackpot games have been very popular for many years now and our Jackpot King, the market’s leading progressive jackpot system, has been a real hit since its introduction in 2016.
April 2021 saw the biggest ever Jackpot King win of €8,133,445.23 from just a €0.80 stake on Deal or No Deal™ Megaways™ and while life-changing wins like this aren’t common, the potential that it can be achieved is something that players truly resonate with.
Jackpots will continue to evolve in order to meet the changing preferences of players, but the progressive pots that offer huge cash prizes will always remain.
Blueprint Gaming specialises mostly in slots; do you have an interest in developing other types of games?
While we’re always open to change, our core skills lie within creating the best slots possible and that’s what we’ve earned our reputation doing, so we’ve no plans of diversifying far beyond what we do at the moment.
That said, we’ve enjoyed success with our range of scratchcard games derived from the popularity of many of our hit slots with titles like The Goonies™, King Kong Cash™, Fishin’ Frenzy™ and Deal or No Deal™.
We also offer a selection of branded table games. We’ve been privileged enough to create exclusive roulette or blackjack titles for William Hill, Entain and Eyas Gaming, engaging with them on the game build to offer first-class products. Mayfair Blackjack and Mayfair Roulette with William Hill have been noteworthy successes and are projects we are extremely proud of. Our Eyas and Entain table games have been welcome additions to our portfolio as we continue to build our branded game portfolio with key partners.
For us, it’s key to maintain a diverse portfolio to attract the best operators and a wide audience, by ensuring we offer a variety of slot content along with our carefully selected complementary products.
While we excel at maximising the longevity of games and features, we must also have a variety at our disposal to give the operators the best opportunity to attract players and keep them engaged.
How many games, on average, does the company release per month or per year?
Years past have seen a product release roadmap of around 60 titles per year but that’s not set in stone. We’ve constantly got our finger on the pulse of trends and player preferences and we’ll adapt our output to suit the market. Agility is key and being able to react swiftly or even develop games ahead of the curve is something we believe we’re adept at.
What are the upcoming releases that we should expect?
As always, we continue to develop exciting new games and features, delivering quality casino entertainment for players worldwide. Our diverse slot catalogue is due to see more new instalments over the next few months including 7’s Deluxe Fortune Spins, Into the Wild Megaways™ and Diego Wild.
