What is the Legal Gambling Age in MO
Sports Betting
At the time of writing this post, sports betting is not yet legal in the state even if the person is of the legal gambling age in Missouri. There have been some attempts for legalization in 2023 and before but without any positive outcomes so far. There are no venues in the state to make bets in person. Online betting is not regulated and technically illegal, but some people do play online.
Casinos
There are many land-based casinos in Missouri – from big facilities that operate 24/7 to riverboat casinos to small slots-only venues. Access is allowed to people who are 21 or older. Online casinos are not allowed.
Poker
While there are no separate poker rooms in the state, most casino houses do offer legal poker rooms. Access is available to players who are 21 and older. Online poker is technically illegal and is not regulated.
Fantasy Sports
Participation in daily fantasy sports is possible for players who are at least 18 years of age. Contests and bets are totally in line with the legislation.
Lottery
A legal lottery has been existing in the state since 1986 and a nice variety of games is available to the state’s residents, including Pick 3, Pick 4, Show Me Cash, and Missouri Lotto. The lottery gambling age in MO is 18.
Bingo
Bingo, pull tabs, and other charitable games are available to players who are 16/18 years old (depending on the game).
Horse Racing
Pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing is allowed but there are currently no race tracks in Missouri. Off-track betting is not allowed, let alone on horse races that take place in other states, therefore, even being of 18 years old which is a legal age for gambling in Missouri for betting on horse races, one cannot enjoy the fun.
Online horse racing bets do operate in the state but this activity is still in the gray area so far.
